This site is dedicated to the drivers, family and crew of our favorite motorsport, Gadget Racing! The Gadget class was created to offer competitive motorsport competition to drivers young and old, at a reasonable cost. Our highest priority and most important rule is to have fun! Gadget racing offers thrills aplenty without the exorbitant costs of other types of motor racing. There’s no need to get too serious in this class.
Gadget cars are based on the Honda Odyssey and Pilot recreation vehicles. The stock single cylinder 350cc and 400cc engines are replaced with twin cylinder engines that can be up to 700cc in displacement. That makes for close to 100 extra horsepower over the stock engines! Of course the chassis is modified to accept the larger engine and strengthened to take the extra abuse of oval and off road racing. The chassis is lowered for oval racing by changing the position of the upper shock mounts and the wing is added. Competition specific tires and wheels are installed for the flat tracks. Changing the car back for off road racing is as simple as removing the wing and changing the wheels, tires and shock position. These cars are fast and fun and safe in comparison the other forms of motor racing. And best of all, AFFORDABLE!
This site is in its infancy with plenty of work left to do before it becomes the site we hope it to be. We do ask for a little patience as everyone working on this site is doing so on a voluntary basis and just for the fun of it.
Very soon our visitors will be able to read race reports, view our photo gallery and read informative articles written by John “Stumpy” Connell, the kingpin of the Gadget class.
This years summer break will be over on the first weekend of September and the guys and gals will be at it again. We’ll have all results right here on Gadget Racing.com so come back to our site and check it out.
